RAFTING: Half-day trip on the Middle-Verdon Join in for the descent that has it all: action, scenery... and fun.

	Programme Meet at 1:30 pm (3:00 pm in the summer) at our private ground "Adventure Forest" (see the access map) Our guides are there to welcome you. They then hand out the equipment and give a safety talk. You are now ready to embark on a rafting half-day descent of the Verdon that will take you from the Pinèdel put-in to the Samson Corridor (16 km and 2h30 on the water). During the first hour of navigation, your guide teaches you the basics of rafting techniques. On this first part of the river, class II rapids - which are relatively easy - are mostly encountered. Right at the entrance of the Gorges, a fun rapid called "La Dégoulinante" is waiting for you for a real roller-coaster ride on the waves. From that point, we take some time to marvel at the work of millions of years of erosion on the impressive limestone cliffs surrounding us between the successive class II and III rapids. But the excitement is not quite yet over, as the right-angle shaped "Solitaire" rapid - the steepest and the fastest rapid of the descent - is soon coming up. This exhilarating rapid marks the end of the trip. Getting out of the raft, you can admire the beauty of the Samson Corridor, as you help to deflate and roll up the raft before carrying it on the "Sentier Martel" trail. This entails a 10 mn walk out of the Gorge to reach the Samson Corridor Belvedere, where our bus is waiting to drive you back to the start. More pictures from the Middle-Verdon... 	Our activities include * Fully qualified and experienced guides, * Approved (European standards), up to date safety gear (life jacket, helmet), * Individual equipment adapted to the activity (wetsuit, windbreaker, paddle), * Shuttle service back to the put-in, * Insurance (civil liability covering ABOARD Rafting's activities). 	Additional information * Being able to swim is essential. * Minimum age: 12. * No previous experience of white water activities is necessary. * Things to bring: swimming costume, sports shoes, towel.
	Price and booking * Half-day trip (total length of the activity: 3h30): 55 Euros per person.   * For any information concerning booking and cancellation procedures or insurance details, please refer to the "General Terms and Conditions" section where you will find a Booking Form.     Period of validity * April to September. * The flow of the Verdon river is regulated by the Castillon dam, which is operated by the EDF (French National Electricity Company). In the spring (from April until June), the water releases take place on a regular basis, thanks to the thawing of the snow in the surrounding upper Valleys. The water then feeds the Castillon Lake, just above Castellane.In case no water releases are planned, we perform our white water activities on the Upper Verdon (in the Fontgaillarde Gorges), which are situated about 45 mn from Castellane. In the summer (July and August), the water releases are planned usually on Tuesdays and Fridays (and sometimes on Thursdays), which are the only days we offer rafting tours, the Upper-Verdon being too low to be run. In the fall (from September until October), the water releases are regular again and the rafting trips take place almost every day on the Verdon.
